Ground Services VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
Anyone can be a volunteer at the Arboretum. You don't have to be a student or staff. We will work with any individual, student organization, corporate/community service group, Scouts and youth groups needing a community service project.
ASU has earned the designation Tree Campus USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation and Toyota.
Getting Started
To volunteer for the Arboretum:
ASU Students that wish to fulfill their required Community Service volunteer hours with the Arboretum only need to fill out the Registration form.

- Flower Assistant
Dead heading, hand watering plants.
- Campus Harvest
Several opportunities exist involving harvesting fruits and herbs. Details
- Date Palm Stewardship
Adopt and care for date palms at Polytechnic campus. Harvest your own share of dates in the fall. Details
- Organic Herb Gardening
Weeding, planting, mulching, harvesting at the Arboretum Herb Garden.
- Edible Campus Assistant
Weeding, planting, mulching, harvesting.
- Compost Specialist At Singh Farm
On the job training at a family run organic farm and compost operation.
- Special Events
Mall displays, campus sustainability events, new garden construction.
- Rosarian
Care & maintenance of the campus rose collection.
- Field Work
Arboretum surveys, water audits, plant identification & updating signs.
- Arborist Assistant
Pruning, sucker removal.
