Tracy Grunig | Director

Tracy Grunig started in May 2008 as the Director of University Audit and Advisory
Services at Arizona State University.  She brings to her role over twenty years of audit
experience in healthcare, private industry, public accounting, and institutions of higher
education.

Tracy graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University in 1998 (M.P.A.), and
is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner.

James Cumming | Internal Auditor Senior

James Cumming joined University Audit and Advisory Services in July of 2007.  He has
over 25 years of accounting, information systems and auditing experience.  He was Systems
Manager for Spiral Incorporated and more recently an Internal Auditor for Green Tree Financial
Services.

James received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder,
Colorado.   He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Colorado, a Certified
Internal Auditor, ITIL V3 Certified and a Certified Information Systems Auditor.  He was
also a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer from 2000 to 2005.

Lee Pettit | Internal Auditor Senior

Lee Pettit joined ASU's Internal Audit unit in February 2006. He has over seven years of
accounting and auditing experience. He has experience with Sponsored Projects
Reporting, Construction Auditing, Database Construction, and Information Systems
Auditing. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Information Systems
Auditor.

Lee has affiliations with the following professional organizations: the Institute of Internal
Auditors, the Association of College and University Auditors, and the Association of
Government Accountants.

Lee received a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in Provo,
Utah.

Timothy Carroll | Internal Auditor

Timothy J. Carroll joined ASU’s University Audit and Advisory Services Department in
September 2007.  He had 4 years of audit experience prior to joining the University team.  
He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and has recently become a member of ASU’s
Environmental Health and Safety Compliance Program as a Compliance Officer.

Tim has recently been accepted to the Utica College Masters of Science Economic Crime
Management Program.  He will be starting these studies in January 2009 and will
graduate in December 2010.  He has received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economic
Crime Investigation from Hilbert College in Hamburg, NY, and a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from Bowling Green State
University in Bowling Green, OH.

Tim has affiliations with the following professional organizations:  The Institute of
Internal Auditors, The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, The Association of
Government Accountants and The Association of College and University Auditors.

Laura Samely | Administrative Associate

Laura Samely joined the University Audit & Advisory Services department at Arizona
State University in October 2004.  She has over thirty years of experience in office
management and administration that she acquired while working for telecommunications,
banking, pharmaceutical, law and the construction industries.

Laura has acquired in-depth knowledge and experience as an executive assistant
supporting upper management and officials of Fortune 500 companies.
