Carpentry Services
The Carpentry Shop is responsible for routine and specially requested carpentry jobs and projects such as wall partitions, doors and frames, and custom cabinetry. They also do masonry and concrete installation and repairs.

For general inquiries regarding ongoing work or cost estimates, please contact our Service Center during regular business hours (6:30 am through 5:00 pm M-F).
The following are examples of services provided by the Carpentry Shop that are generally not chargeable to the requesting department:
- Repair venetian blinds in an academic building
- Repair torn carpeting only to reduce tripping accidents. (Individual departments should arrange for permanent repair or replacement of torn carpet through the Purchasing Department.)
- Repair existing door stops, enclosures, hinges and holes
- Repair acoustical tiles
- Hang pictures, plants and minor wall items
- Repair molding and cove bases
- Repair P.E. locker hinges
- Repair roof leaks
- Install chalkboards in classrooms
- Repair and maintain interior tile surfaces
- Repair broken windows
- Repair and maintain concrete walls and sidewalks
- Re-grout brick or masonry work.
Services that are usually charged to the requesting department include:
- Remodeling Building cabinets, desks, shelves and other custom furniture
- Frame pictures or construct picture frames
- Constructing bulletin boards
- Repair wooden furniture
- Construct barricades
- Install formica tops on desks
- Install doors, door conversions, door stops and door enclosures
- Install acoustical tiles
- Construct faculty mailboxes
- Move wall shelves and repair associated wall damage
- Remodel new brick or masonry work
- Build speed bumps and install concrete parking blocks
