The ASU Crime Prevention Unit, in conjunction with other Community-based Policing staff, conducts educational and experiential programs throughout the year to inform students and employees of security policies, procedures and practices. These programs are free and include topics such as personal safety, preventing acquaintance rape, residence hall security, office security, carjacking prevention, bicycle safety and home security. More than 50 programs are available for students, faculty and staff.

The ASU Crime Prevention Unit was the first in Maricopa County to present comprehensive education about workplace violence, and joins the Paradise Valley police as one of the few departments that offer crime prevention programs for disabled persons. In addition to these programs, the Student Affairs and Residential Life sponsors and conducts safety and security programs in the halls throughout the year.
