Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Services (HVAC)

Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Services (HVAC) is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all building heating and cooling systems. Most of the air conditioning duct work maintenance and fabrication is done by our sheet metal shop. Preventive maintenance provides for the routine inspection, care, and lubrication of the HVAC equipment.

For general inquiries regarding ongoing work or cost estimates, please contact our Service Center during regular business hours (6:30 am through 5:00 pm M-F).

Examples of Non-billable Routine Services:

  • Replace air conditioning filters in academic buildings
  • Perform preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and related equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on environmental chambers
  • Control air flows; repair and replace air handlers, exhaust fans and hoods
  • Insulate pipes and make insulation repairs
  • Repair and maintain mall water fountains and aquatic complexes
  • Repair and maintain building heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems
  • Repair exhaust fans and fume hoods
  • Fabricate sheet metal for ducts, vents, flashings and welding
  • Maintain compressors and vacuum pumps integral to the building operating system
  • Maintain and repair evaporative coolers and air conditioning equipment
  • Maintain mechanical equipment

Examples of Billable Services:

  • Replace air conditioning filters in auxiliary buildings
  • Fabricate special sheet metal work
  • Repair "constant temperature rooms," freeze dryers and centrifuges (if used for research)
  • Repair ice machines, refrigerators and special refrigeration equipment
  • Perform remodeling/renovations
  • Perform all services provided to auxiliary enterprises
