Ecological Mail
Mail Services has partnered with Ecological Mail Coalition to help reduce your department’s junk mail. Ecological Mail can help decrease the amount of catalogs, magazines or other advertising for employees who are no longer in your department. They compare their database with the mailers’ database and notify mailers when an employee is no longer at the address they have. They do not sell or give out their database.
How do I get started?
Since mail is a sensitive issue, security precautions need to be taken. The office manager of a department must sign up as a user of this service. Sign up as a user
To designate a staff member to add employees to the list, contact Linda Augustine.
Then use “Add Former Employee” to add the name of an employee who is no longer working for Arizona State University to Ecological Mail Coalition’s database or “Add Employee Change of Address” if an employee has changed departments and they would like their advertising mail forwarded to their new address. After the initial sign up, you can add to your list by just logging in on the Ecological Mail page.
Why should I do this?
You can cut 100 pounds of solid waste and save one tree for every former employee of your department. Not to mention reducing the time and frustration of handling the unwanted mail.
