Mail Sustainability
University Mail Services supports the university’s sustainability efforts. Here are a few of our accomplishments:
- Recycled more than 14,000 pounds of paper products in Fiscal Year 2009.
- Began the daily collection of cell phones, VHS tapes, CDs, DVDs, microfiche/microfilm, jewel cases and floppy disks from departments centralizing the pick-up of these items for recycling.
- Recycling ink cartridges from our addressing equipment.
Mail Services has partnered with Ecological Mail to help reduce unwanted bulk mail coming for former employees. Sign up today to reduce your department’s unwanted bulk mail. Waste Free Mail is another site provided to identify mailers sending your department multiple copies of a publication when only one or two are needed.
