How to Return a Permit or U-Pass if Leaving the University
Employees and students who leave ASU should make sure that returning their permit and ASU U-Pass is checked off their list of “things to do” before leaving the university. Parking permits, gate access cards and U-Passes are property of ASU Parking & Transit Services.
If you are a student leaving the university, you must return your permit and gate access card (if applicable) to your campus Permit Sales office. With the exception of fall-semester only permits, you can return your permit by April 30, 2010, for a prorated refund. Students who leave the university must also return their ASU U-Passes to Permit Sales. No refunds are given for Student U-Passes*.
Employees who are no longer affiliated with the University, or who depart for sabbatical or medical leave, must also return their permits, gate access cards (if applicable) and U-Passes. Employees who paid upfront for their parking and/or transit passes will receive a prorated refund if the passes are returned on or before April 30, 2010. Employees who paid for the their parking permit and/or ASU U-Pass via payroll deduction MUST return these items directly to their campus Permit Sales office in order to stop payroll deductions and to prevent future billing for missed payments. Do NOT return parking permits or U-Passes to your supervisor. For more information, please contact your campus PTS office.
*Students who purchased a U-Pass for $80 may receive a $40 refund if it is returned before Jan. 21, 2010.
