Disabled Parking
Parking and Transit Services is committed to serving the disabled community and works closely with the Disability Resource Center to ensure equal access and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Individuals with a permanent disability, who show a valid permanent disabled state placard or disabled vehicle registration issued in the applicant's name, have the choice of purchasing an ASU disabled all-access permit, or a lot- or structure-specific permit. The placard or vehicle registration must be presented along with photo identification at the time of permit purchase.
- Visitors with disabled plates or a State placard may park at disabled meters or visitor lots and pay applicable fees.
- When displaying a disabled permit or placard, you must park in properly marked disabled stalls only (except at the Polytechnic campus, where you may park in any space in a green or red lot with the appropriate color disabled permit).
- A disabled permit or placard is for the exclusive use of the disabled driver. It will be revoked if used by a non-disabled person.
- The number of disabled stalls on campus exceeds the number required by law.
- Please contact Jim Hemauer at 480.965.1362 if you have any questions regarding the services provided by the Disability Resource Center.
Disabled Cart Service: In partnership with the Disability Resource Center, PTS co-sponsors a free point-to-point cart service on the Tempe campus. Transportation is provided by radio-dispatched electric vehicles and operates from Mon-Fri, 7:10am-6:45pm. Please call 480.965.3055 for more information.
All permit holders can take advantage of the various forms of transit options PTS provides. Shuttle service is available on five separate routes that provide quick and easy transit on the Tempe campus for permit holders who have chosen to purchase a less expensive permit and, therefore, are parking in more remote lots or structures. All shuttles are free of charge and are disabled accessible. For more shuttle and other transportation options, view commuter options information.
Visitor Parking
Disabled parking stalls are available in visitor parking locations on the ASU campuses. See visitor parking for more information.
