FAQs: Carpool
Q: How much does a carpool permit cost?
Two or more individuals who are interested in obtaining a carpool permit can purchase a permit for one of the parking lots or structures that offer carpool spaces at the full permit rate.
Dividing the cost of the permit two ways, or three ways, if applicable, is a transaction that takes place among the individuals. Permit holders should purchase the permit and then complete a carpool permit application (for a Tempe Campus carpool permit) or visit the West Campus permit sales office (for a West Campus carpool permit). Carpoolers must re-register each year for a carpool permit.
Q: What if I have a carpool permit, but upon arrival to my parking lot or structure, the carpool-reserved spaces are full?
If carpool spaces are full, a permit holder is welcome to park in any available space within the lot or structure for which his/her permit is designated.
Carpool-reserved spaces are a perk for permit holders who register for a carpool permit, as these spaces are usually closer to the entrance and exits of the parking facility. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
