Radiation Safety Training

Training Schedule

Training is available on campus at laboratory and class locations to accommodate class and research schedules. Please contact our office to schedule training.

Radiation Producing Equipment (RPE)

This class is required for people who want to procure, or need access, to analytical x-ray equipment, accelerators and other ionizing radiation producing equipment. Topics include the ASU Radiation Safety Organization with outside research partners, procurement, hazards, registration and surveys. To schedule training, please open and fill out the RPE Training request form and submit to Radiation Safety. -- RPE TRAINING REQUEST FORM

Radioactive Material (RAM)

This class is required for people working at or visiting ASU who procure, use or dispose of radioactive materials. Topics include procurement, accountability, instruments, surveys, hazards, disposal and emergency response. Laser Safety

This class is for anyone working at or visiting ASU who procures or uses Class IIIb or IV lasers. (You can check your laser by looking at warning label on it for the class laser designation. If you have any questions, please contact us at 480.965.6140. Lasers must be registered within 30 days even if left inactive.
