Recycling - Media and Jewel Cases

VHS Tapes, CDs, DVDs, Microfiche/Microfilm, Jewel Cases, Floppy Disks

Thanks to the generosity and initiative of Mail Services’ staff, recycling VHS tapes, CDs, DVDs, microfiche/microfilm, jewel cases, and floppy disks at ASU is much easier.

Simply place these items in campus mail WITHOUT the envelope and Mail Services staff will pick them up with the rest of the mail. Please only place items in the campus mailbox/tray in this manner if you want them to be recycled.

If you have an item similar in nature to the items listed above but you are not sure if it can be recycled, contact recycle-q@asu.edu with a description.

Large Quantity Pickup - VHS Tapes, CDs, DVDs, Microfiche/Microfilm, Jewel Cases, Floppy Disks

Mail Services will NOT pick up large quantities of these items. Instead, please send the type of material, quantity, and location of the item(s) to recycle-q@asu.edu and a pickup by the ASU Recycling Program will be arranged.

Notice

Please note that it is your responsibility to erase or destroy any sensitive data contained on any media before discarding it.  Please consider the use of magnetic bulk erasers for magnetic media and diskettes with sensitive data. CDs or DVDs with sensitive data shoud be shredded, however a few snips with scissors will make the disk unreadable in a drive.  ASU and its agents will not be held responsible for any data left on discarded media.
