The ASU Sun Card is a multifunctional identification/access card that can also serve as a payment card by debiting funds from an optional prepaid account.

The ASU Sun Card also serves as a prepaid debit account for faculty, students and staff by allowing you or someone you know can add money, Sun Dollars, to your account. Then you can spend your Sun Dollars on campus and through hundreds of additional off-campus vendors.

Use Sun Dollars for any of the following:

  • Hundreds of vendors both on and off any one of the four ASU campuses. Receive additional discounts from approved vendors by using your Sun Card
  • Pay for campus vending and laundry machines (where applicable) without cash
  • Pay for printing and copying services without cash
  • ASU Bookstores - purchases and discounts on textbooks, supplies and ASU merchandise
  • ASU Surplus - Purchase discounted items through surplus

Additional Sun Card benefits:

  • Electronic door access - gives you access to specific buildings as authorized by building segment managers
  • Student Recreation Complex (SRC) and YMCA Downtown - Serves as your membership identification
  • ASU athletic events - provides access and is used with student season plans
  • ASU Libraries - serves as your library card
  • Exam identification - is your official exam identification where required
  • Meal Plans - Meal plan, Maroon & Gold
  • Bicycle rentals through the Bike Co-Op
  • Lifelock - Help protect your identity with Lifelock and receive a 10% discount. 

 

All of these services are provided through the Sun Card. You can choose to participate in some, all, or none of the optional programs. For instance you can have a meal plan, Maroon & Gold, and Sun Dollars and these will all be accessed using your Sun Card. The meal plans (Points, Maroon & Gold) are administered by ARAMARK, while Sun Dollars are administered by the Sun Card office.
