Policies

Members Only Policy

The University Club at Arizona State University is a member’s only club. To become a member, an individual must submit a membership application, pay a membership fee, and pay yearly/monthly dues according to the member category selected. Club members may invite non-members to dine at the Club as their guests, provided the member is in attendance. If the Club member is unable to attend, a one-time membership fee of $25 will be charged to the member’s account.

If non-members would like to preview and dine in the Club, a thirty-day membership fee of $25 is required prior to Club use. This will allow us to be in compliance with our member’s only policy. Please contact member services.

Re-instatement Policy

A former member may request to re-instate their University Club membership provided their account was current and their membership was in good standing at the time of cancellation. A written request must be submitted to the University Club Coordinator. Members reinstating within 6 months will be required to pay a $50 fee.

Reciprocal Policy

Did you know the ASU University Club has a reciprocity arrangement with the Downtown Phoenix University Club? All downtown faculty, administrators and service professionals that are members of the University Club are welcome to experience the privileges and benefits of membership at both locations. Please visit their website at universityclubphoenix.com

Members in good standing may request a Reciprocal Membership letter (valid for 30 days) which is required when visiting any reciprocal club. Go to acuclubs.org for a complete listing of reciprocal clubs.

Facilities and services available vary from club to club. Prior to your visit, we encourage you to call ahead to receive all specific details related to the club i.e., dress code, payment procedures, etc.

Billing procedures will be different at each club. Most clubs are not prepared to invoice for services rendered. Visiting members are generally expected to pay for all drinks, meals, and other services at the time of their visit.

Visiting club members may dine at the University Club if they are members of an ACUC Club. They will be requested to provide their membership card with the name of the Club they belong to and a membership number when making a dining reservation. Member names, membership numbers and Club names will be noted on all visiting guest checks.

Cancellation Policy

In order for a membership to be cancelled, a written cancellation request must be received by the University Club Coordinator 30 days prior to the cancellation date. Member accounts must be paid in full before a cancellation can be processed. If monthly dues were being paid by payroll deduction the University Club Coordinator will process the paperwork needed to notify Human Resources to stop payroll deduction.

Retirees Policy

The Retiree status pertains only to ASU Faculty and Staff. Members who are retired from ASU may request a membership category change to Emeritus or Retired status. In order for a status to be changed and monthly dues to be reduced by the retirement date, written requests must be received by the University Club Coordinator 30 days prior to the retirement date.

Written requests for 75+ status must be received by the University Club Coordinator 30 days prior to the 75th birthday in order for the changes to take effect on the member’s birthday.

Leave of Absence Policy

A membership may be temporarily suspended without payment of dues via a leave of absence request. Requests will be limited to one leave of absence every 3 years.
